As you can see, my name is Kayla. I am 14 and will be a freshmen in September. My hobbies include fourwheeling, hunting, fishing, camping in Canada and spending time with my friends and family. I live on a farm with two calves named Cupcake and Brownie, chickens, a bunny and my yellow lab whos name is AJ.
I go to Canada every summer with my little brother, Brad, and my dad. We like going up there because of the huge fish. A few years ago, I won a fishing tournament between our friends. I had caught a 28 inch pike. It was exciting to beat all of the older guys up there, especially because I was the only girl that went out of 20 people. We have some friends that live up there, so we usually have a fish fry before we leave, so we can visit with them.
In the winter, I like to go ice fishing on Lake Bellaire and Intermediate Lake. Last winter, I caught about 100 perch every day, but only about 10 keepers. I also like riding snowmobiles, but I don’t ride it very often. In the fall I love to go hunting, mostly because I’m a pro at it! Throughout the last couple of years, I have shot two does, both about 120 lbs. at about 130 yards away. Last year I had shot my first buck, a four point. It was so exciting, I remember it like it was yesterday. It was getting late out, I was with my dad and Brad, and I was sitting up on a hill when we saw the buck come out from the woods. It was walking toward a gas well, which made me nervous. I was almost 120 yards away, and I was in the middle of the woods, which meant that I had to shoot between branches. Suprisingly, I shot it in the lungs with my .243 deer rifle. My dad was really proud of me, but I wasn’t too happy when I had to gut it.
Have fun looking at my pictures!
